Concept Designs for Kylo Ren’s Helmet in The Rise of Skywalker

Kylo Ren’s helmet was seen repaired in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but it may have looked very differently if any of these concepts by Jake Lunt Davies, Luke D Fisher, and Ivan Manzella had been approved.

Did you know: In the earliest days of #TheRiseOfSkywalker, Neal Scanlan’s creature designers, including @JakeLuntDavies, @Luke.D.Fisher, and Ivan Manzella, took a pass at designing Kylo Ren’s helmet (normally the responsibility of the costume department), only knowing that director J.J. Abrams wanted it to return. They designed an entirely new batch of helmets, only later learning that Abrams intended Kylo to fix the one he smashed in #TheLastJedi.
