During Friday’s Hasbro PulseCon 2020 Star Wars panel we got to see a glimpse of a new logo celebrating the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm on the spring 2021 wave of The Black Series Archive figures, and we expect this to be just the tip of the iceberg! Lucasfilm’s Chris Dern, Senior Product Development Manager, who was part of Hasbro’s panel said that we would learn more about the anniversary in the coming weeks.

George Lucas created Lucasfilm in 1971, and Disney/Lucasfilm have decided to mark the 50th anniversary of it’s creation with a new logo and products to commemorate the anniversary. Lucasfilm Ltd as we know it today was incorporated six years later, on September 12th, 1977.
So far, little is known about what plans have been made to mark the anniversary but we would expect to see this logo on many more products, from multiple licensees, and perhaps on apparel available in the Disney Parks and a book looking at fifty years of the company history would also be very welcome.
With no Star Wars Celebration event planned till 2022 due to the ongoing pandemic, we think it is doubtful there will be any events to celebrate the anniversary next year although we are still hoping the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will open at Walt Disney World.
What products or online events would you like to see to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm?
