Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar played Bail Organa, Leia’s adopted father, in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace before his scene was cut. During last week’s Graham Norton Show, which also featured Daisy Ridley, he explained what happened.
The actor filmed for everyone’s favourite prequel, The Phantom Menace, specifically for everyone’s favourite scenes in the Senate. Sadly for him, his scene was cut.
Appearing on the latest The Graham Norton Show, the star said: “I got a tiny part, years ago. I was in this big, kinda intergalactic conference going on, I was standing in this pod. There was a couple of guys behind me wearing green pigs’ heads. It was a huge bluescreen shoot, I had to come out, say a couple of lines.
“We do a rehearsal, say a couple of lines and I hear this voice say, ‘That is the worst American accent I have ever heard’. It was Liam Neeson. He was really winding me up.
“I was playing a character called Bail Organa. I was told he went off to fight in the Clone Wars, right? And then I ended up on the cutting room floor.”
Adrian expressed dismay that he didn’t even make it onto the DVD extras but that actually isn’t the case!
The deleted scene, above, has been edited into the final scene by fans.
