
Mark Dodson, the voice of Salacious Crumb in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and countless other characters in films, games and television, has passed away aged 64 following a heart attack while attending Horror Con in Indiana, his daughter has confirmed.
Having given voices to many beloved characters over the years, Dodson died from a heart attack while attending Horror Con in Indiana, his daughter confirmed to TMZ.
She told the US outlet Dodson had checked into his hotel, which is where he suffered a ‘massive heart attack’ while sleeping.
He also voiced characters for Day of the Dead, the little creatures in Gremlins and can also be heard in many video games.
Dodson’s representative told the publication Dodson added ‘his unique voice and sound to each character and script he touched’.
His daughter, Ciara, said Dodson ‘never ceased making me proud’ and added that his legacy will live on through his grandchildren and her.
Fans have paid tribute on social media, remembering him as a convention regular, as well as for his ‘kind’ personality and ‘iconic’ characters.
Charity The Peter Mayhew Foundation paid tribute to Dodson on X, writing: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that we learn of the passing of Mark Dodson.
