Nick Gillard was born in Brighton and became one of the world’s leading stunt performers and stunt coordinators for film and TV. His appearance will mark 25 years since the trilogy of Star Wars prequels that began with The Phantom Menace, for which he was its main stunt coordinator, including on the famous lightsabre fights. In a career that started in the seventies, Nick worked on five James Bond films, two Indiana Jones adventures and films such as Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, Shaft, starring Samuel Jackson, the first three Superman films, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun. He held the world record for longest fire stunt, alight without air for over two minutes on Alien 3 and he also worked on Aliens. Nick was Tom Cruise’s stunt double in Interview with the Vampire and Far and Away, as well as David Bowie’s stunt double in Jim Henson’s Labyrinth. His TV work includes Grace, Black Mirror, Spooks, Red Dwarf, Doctor Who, The Professionals and 85 episodes of The Bill.
