Like we needed to be told!!
“Star Wars” has topped our month-long poll in which we asked Sun readers to choose the best movie franchise of all time.
It was a see-saw battle, but in the end George Lucas’ six-film sci-fi saga narrowly beat “James Bond” with 52% of the vote in our Greatest Movie Franchise survey.
“Batman” and “Star Trek” were tied for third. In its march to the finals, “Star Wars” beat “Terminator,” “Harry Potter” and the venerable sci-fi franchise, “Star Trek.”
There were a lot of other upsets as well: Captain Jack Sparrow, Edward and Bella, Ethan Hunt, Neo, Shrek, and many more were eliminated in the first round, while Friday the 13th’s Jason made it all the way to the quarter finals.
Many of you also objected to the exclusion of the Bourne series, the Alien franchise, Nightmare, Halloween, Paranormal Activity and others (hey, we had to cut it off somewhere). But we’re confident that no matter what series we threw at Luke, the Force was would have been Star Wars.
The Force is with the Wars!!!
