Why today? Well, 26 years ago today on February 7, 1999 three guys from Salt Lake City, Utah (Mark “Kal Thanos” Hendersen, Lucien “Darion Blade” Maier & Eugene “Lars Quillion” Cash) sat down to record the first episode of Jedi Talk. The launch of their live weekly ‘Internet radio show’ would be available (in RealAudio format!) for people to download and listen to on computers and portable media players. The basis of modern day podcasting was there, even if the word ‘podcast’ wouldn’t appear for another half-decade.
