Jedi News Comic Review: Free Comic Book Day 2013

    The Review

Wow, what an issue. The Assassination of Darth Vader, the title a common occurring theme in itself, was written by Brian Wood, author of the Star Wars series, and in my opinion, much better than the latter series published by Mr. Wood. Their’s Vader, Star Destroyers, and Boba Fett. What’s not to like?

In the narration, Vader knows that he is going to be attacked, and faces the situation stoically and prepared. Vader’s narration is written in a black box to show the darkness of Vader’s thoughts. At first glance, you think Fett Is in on the attack, but he turns out to be Vader’s ally and in Vader’s debt.

Similar to Trachta’s coup, the rogue Admiral Torn, attempts to vent Vader into space along with his troops, but come on Torn, Vader cannot be suffocated. Lord Vader then shows his amazing abilities, crushing a TIE Fighter with the Force and scaling up his own Star Destroyer with his lightsaber like a mountain climber. Torn’s “brilliant” plan tears apart, as Vader bursts his way into the command deck, venting some traitor officers and approaching the head honcho. After thanking Fett for his assistance via communicator, he snaps Torn’s neck and leaves his corpse, in its new “station”.

All in all this comic while quick and one-shot shows Star Wars at its coolest, and again portrays Vader as an unstoppable instrument of the Dark Side. Torn learnt the hard way. Only Anakin Skywalker can kill Darth Vader.
