Update Monday, August 11th at 08:00am BST: It seems that McGregor’s statement was taken out of context and he was talking about his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, returning as Hera Syndulla. We are awaiting for an official statement from LFL and/or McGregor today (Monday, Aug 11th) to clear things up.

During the panel, McGregor was asked: “Being a part of the franchise is one thing, but are you a fan of Star Wars as well?” McGregor replied simply, “Yes.” Then came the curveball: “What is your favorite installment that you’re not a part of?” His answer? “Well, I like watching my wife, you know, so I really enjoyed Ahsoka. I thought that was brilliantly done. It’s so funny, like, you know, she’s shooting the second season now, and I know. Is that a secret?”
Whilst appearing on stage at FanExpo Boston with Hayden Christensen earlier today, Ewan McGregor shared that he will return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the second season of the Disney+ Ahsoka series.
He said, “we begin shooting season two [of Ahsoka] soon – wait, was I supposed to say that?”
Bring it on! In the meantime, stream McGregor in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series on Disney+.
