UK fans were thrilled when the Star Tours Starspeeder 1000 went up for sale at DisneyStore.co.uk on May 4th with many clamouring to buy the £260 vehicle, but 3 months later some orders are being cancelled without explanation, leaving fans annoyed and frustrated.
Not all orders are being cancelled, we have heard from numerous people whose orders are still marked as ‘In Progress’, although there doesn’t seem to be any pattern as to which orders were cancelled and refunded.
To further compound matters, the Starspeeder was actually put back on sale earlier this week for a limited period and whilst some were able to order the vehicle, all those orders were subsequently cancelled too. The item remains on the DisneyStore.co.uk website but is marked as ‘Sold Out’.
Those that have reached out to Disney Store customer services to try and understand why their orders have been cancelled have not been given a satisfactory reason, causing even more disappointment.
We have reached out to Disney Store asking for an explanation, and will let you know what they share with us.
UPDATE 15:00 BST: We now have a statement from Disney Store UK about this issue…
“Unfortunately, due to an admin error more stock was made available than actually in warehouse, this did only affect a very small amount of orders and we’re reviewing our system to minimise the risk of this happen again.”
Whilst we understand what’s happened, it seems there’s nothing that can be done for those that had their orders cancelled as there’s just not enough stock.
