THE breakup gift inspired Kirsty Beaton to join an exclusive club of Lucas fanatics with her new fiance. Now she is one of only two women in Scotland in the costuming club. MOST women get a new hairdo or a handbag when a relationship ends, but not Kirsty Beaton. “I bought myself a TIE Pilot helmet as a break-up present when I split from my boyfriend. It cheered me up,” she said.
The helmet is a large shiny black affair with hoses coming out of the front – not what most women would find cheering, however bad the break-up.
