“You know you’re mad, boy?” Creating the ‘Lived-In Universe’ with Roger Christian.

Join us at Rogue Fun II: Fun and Villainy this May for an extraordinary look behind the lens of a cinematic revolution. In 1977, Roger Christian won an Academy Award for his work on Star Wars, defining the iconic “lived-in” aesthetic that changed sci-fi forever.

As the saga’s first Armorer, Roger didn’t just find props, he built legends. From Luke’s lightsaber and Han Solo’s blaster to the rugged scrap-metal interiors of the Millennium Falcon, Roger’s vision turned military surplus and airplane parts into a galaxy far, far away. From the sands of Tunisia to his later work as Second Unit Director on Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace, come hear the stories of how a bit of “madness” and a lot of scrap metal built the most famous universe in film history.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of his legendary work on the Star Wars galaxy!

This panel will be moderated by Jerry Hancock, a Georgia-based Star Wars collector, author, educator, and historian.
