The Saga Vault has arrived with the first episode, featuring The Mandalorians, available now on the Cinema Relics YouTube channel, featuring Steve Sansweet, Duncan Jenkins, Gus Lopez and Vic Wertz with host Dan Lanigan; which collectible will you choose?
We got to see the first episode earlier and we thought it was a lot of fun, featuring inside knowledge and stories you’re unlikely to hear anywhere else; it’s compulsive viewing!
The premise sees four of the biggest Star Wars collectors in the world each choosing a piece from their collections that represent the weekly theme, this week’s episode being The Mandalorians. Each collector gets to explain why their item should be added to the The Saga Vault of Star Wars Collectibles, sharing anecdotes and social history along the way, before each panelist votes on the the item they’d like to see added and why. However, it’s not just the four of them that get to vote, the show’s presenter Dan Lanigan also gets a say, as do we, the audience. Each week the audience can vote which of the four items they would like to see added to the vault via The Saga Museum website, with Dan Lanigan having the casting vote if there’s a a tie. The winner will be announced as part of a live show every Wednesday at 3pm PT | 6pm ET | 11pm BST with a new theme each week, for eleven weeks, starting today (June 19th). Each week’s main episode will air on Friday’s at 10am PT | 1pm ET | 6pm BST.
It’s a great concept and had me glued to YouTube and I can’t wait to see what other items are brought to the table each week. The Star Wars collectors will change weekly to include Steve Sansweet, Duncan Jenkins, Gus Lopez, Anne Neumann, Lisa Stevens, Michael Wistock, Red Dodge Wistock and Vic Wertz.
