Disney Decides To Not Renew Star Wars 1313 Trademark

It sure sounds like yet another nail can be painfully hammered into the coffin lid of Star Wars 1313, as we learn via The Escapist that Disney has elected to not take the necessary steps to renew its trademark on the game.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office currently classifies Star Wars 1313 as “Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued.”

This is very deflating news given the headlines 1313 has made over the past several months, including Boba Fett being the main character, the various concept art and plot lines that IGN revealed, and the demo video that was shown at E3.

As the article mentions, Disney could decide to re-apply the trademark down the road, but I fear 1313 may have taken its last breath, at least in the form that we have come to know to this point.
