Not so long ago in a place not too far away (for some)…London Film and Comic Con 2014! Where Cosplayers show off their amazing and imaginative minds, stalls sell merchandise galore at super bargain rates and fans geek it out with fellow friends and stars! The Force truly ran deep at this year’s convention!
For those who have not attended LFCC before it is very much a showcase for independent businesses and Cosplayers. The event organisers, Showmasters, usually deal with small to medium shows. So unlike MCM conventions, LFCC was restricted to one hall. But by no means did that restrict the fun! The sheer amount of cool and whacky cosplays created an exciting atmosphere while the bargain tables brought happiness to the room. Although official costume clubs like the 501st where not in attendance some great independent Star Wars characters turned up. Jedi, Sith and even some Mandolorian mercenaries where patrolling the area keeping the long queues entertained.
The Transformers team came up and displayed their very impressive collection of full scale Autobots. Favourite characters such as Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee where parked up (sadly they didn’t transform) with audio and lights which really brightened up the place! The actor appearance line up was absolutely incredible with headliners such as Stan Lee, Carrie Fisher and Jeremy Bulloch. The prices for autographs were very fair and all were incredibly friendly to the fans! I myself got to meet Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) who was very friendly and more than happy to have pictures!
The layout for the whole convention was excellent. There was a lot of open area for chilling and plenty of space between isles for an easy flow of people. The overall climate of the hall was reasonably cool considering the amount of people and the different areas were clearly sectioned. Over all LFCC will always be one of my favourites as you really get to see a diverse range of awesome stuff. If you’re new to comic cons then I would highly advise you to take this one as your first as it’s a bit more easy going then others. And don’t forget to tune into the next episode of RADIO 1138 for some audio from the show!
