Jedi News Review: Farthest From 6: Sunday 27th July 2014

Farthest From is a small show hosted by All the Cool Stuff in Fordingbridge. It is dedicated to bringing the audience a rare selection of vintage figures and toys to purchase and a wonderful array of presentations journeying back to a long time ago. Set in a visually stunning area with such great people this show was overall, awesome.

As always, Dave Tree at All The Cool Stuff created two new hilarious figures to add to the growing Flock collection. This time it was Chef Flockonaught and Flock Pig. The team also had a free set of 8 special and limited edition cards exclusive to Farthest From. These included a mixture of twists on the original late 70’s trading cards and Flock mini prints. Both the figures and cards are still up for grabs over at All the Cool Stuff but hurry as they are in limited stock!

The presentations were very well done and incredibly informative. Richard from the Star Wars Forum UK came up first and discussed the EU in books like Journal of the Whills and the Han Solo Adventures. Grant then discussed collecting Marvel UK comics and some tips for amateur collectors. And finally came our very own Mark Newbold who had composed a great piece all about the UK monthly magazines which was well written and for a first PowerPoint, was pretty damn good!

After the presentations we had a little search around the stalls to see what wonders we could find.

Just to give you a deeper taste of some of the stuff up for grabs there I’ll go through what some of the Jedi News team members found. Brian managed to get his hands on some original hardback annuals for a bargain price. James found an original bagged Emperor Palpatine figure, still with his cane. Mark grabbed some rather cool vintage style fridge magnets, some novels and a Droids and Ewoks quiz book. And I managed to get my hands on some classic books like Star Wars, from the adventures of Luke Skywalker for absolute bargain prices! If you’re an experienced vintage collector looking to fill those gaps in your collection or (like me) you’re quite new to the vintage stuff, it’s a great place to start!
