Talk about one hell of an exclusive! Entertainment Weekly in association with Lucasfilm has posted an article revealing some of the character names from The Force Awakens in one of the coolest and unique ways possible – via a series of vintage style Topps trading cards!
J.J. Abrams, the film’s co-writer and director, and Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, have decided to reveal the identities of some of their new characters exclusively to EW—and they’ve done it in a retro fashion that should bring a smile to anyone familiar with the phrase “Collect ‘Em, Trade ‘Em.”
In addition to purposely leaving off the last name for the characters of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega), director J.J. Abrams stated that the numbering printed on the trading cards does have a significance to each one.
– Roller droid: BB-8
– Oscar Isaacs: Poe Dameron
– Dark hooded broadsaber wielder: Kylo Ren
– Daisy Ridley: Rey
– John Boyega: Finn
