In LEGO Star Wars: A New Hope, beginning readers will have the opportunity to follow Luke Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi as they attempt to rescue Princess Leia from the clutches of the evil Darth Vader. Along the way, they will meet R2-D2 and C-3PO and fight in a space battle. Finally they will try to destroy the Death Star and defeat the evil Empire.
In LEGO® Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Level 2 readers will follow the adventures of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and the rebel forces as they fight against the evil Empire. They will meet new characters, such as the bounty hunter Boba Fett, as well as discovering new worlds to explore, such as the ice planet of Hoth.
In LEGO® Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Level 3 readers will follow the climactic last battle between the rebel forces and the Empire. Returning characters include Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and the villainous Darth Vader. This thrilling finale to the Star Wars saga introduces the devious Jabba the Hutt and shows the final battle for the Death Star.
It was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. The evil Galactic Empire ruled over the galaxy in tyranny by the hand of Emperor Palpatine and his feared apprentice known as Darth Vader. But unbeknownst to all a tidal wave of brave actions and heroes was about to washout the Empire. One of these heroes being a young farm boy by the name of Luke Skywalker, who would soon become the most powerful being in the galaxy and spark a new hope for all.
This collection of books works in reading levels. A New Hope uses simple sentence structures and very basic terminology to introduce the young fan into reading. There is also a small glossary at the back to explore key characters.
The Empire Strikes Back then steps the story line up to level 2 to help build confidence by combining longer sentences and a wider range of vocabulary. A small quiz is located at the end to help the young fan to start to remember some information.
Return of the Jedi then aids with helping to read alone without assistance through using character profile boxes and a complex glossary and index to help revise any further information.
There is a consistent balance of pictures with text to make the whole experience easier and more enjoyable. With regards to the actual physical properties to the books each one has an incredibly hard back and is slightly glossed so that the book is protected by any falls of spillages and is pretty much child proof. Overall these books are a great way to introduce your child to the story of Star Wars while also improving their reading skills and would make a great school reading book for any young fan.
