If you are a fan of Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Battlefront title, then this should be some much-welcomed and exciting news for you as EA has announced they will be releasing a second Battlefront game sometime next year or possibly 2018.
EA has confirmed Star Wars Battlefront 2 will release “next year” during the company’s latest earnings call.
The announcement was made by EA’s Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, revealing plans to include content from the new Star Wars films—presumably The Force Awakens and the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, although neither film was named in the call. Jorgensen also explained plans for the release of at least a new Star Wars game each year, for the next few years.
No exact date was provided and since it was announced for “next year” in a context where fiscal years and calendar years are both employed, it’s not clear if Star Wars Battlefront 2 will release in calendar 2017 or 2018.
