Tributes continue to pour in for Kenny Baker, the much-loved actor who portrayed R2-D2 throughout the original and prequel trilogies who passed away last week. Having lived in Preston for many years, his passing was keenly felt there with local sci-fi and Star Wars fans taking the opportunity to pay their respects, including Neil Livesey who had this to say.
Baker regularly appeared at conventions and fan days across Lancashire and was “always happy to come out for the fans”, according to Neil Livesey, organiser of Preston Comic Con, a comic book, film and pop culture convention.
He said the actor had a “lust for life”, adding: “Lets just say he liked a glass of white wine and had a wicked sense of humour.”
