
Award-winning musical composer Michael Giacchino will be turning the big 5-0 next month and Entertainment Weekly has details on a special concert that will be taking place on October 20 at London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate this birthday milestone.
Directors J.J. Abrams (The Force Awakens, Episode IX) and Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) are among the list of participants for the event.

Filmmakers J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves will help composer Michael Giacchino celebrate the half-century mark during his 50th birthday concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall next month.
Giacchino, whose most recent credits include Rogue One, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, has worked with Abrams since the ABC series Alias and later on Lost, and he composed the scores for the director’s reboot of Star Trek, as well as Mission: Impossible 3 and Super 8.
The composer has worked four times with Reeves, first on 2008’s Cloverfield, then on 2010’s vampire tale Let Me In, and finally on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and this summer’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
The birthday concert will be held at the iconic venue on Oct. 20, and will feature a live performances and stories about the makings of the films and their music.
