Columbia Sportswear has officially announced that they will be releasing a brand new Star Wars outerwear collection later this week. The new limited edition Echo Base 3-piece collection is based on apparel worn by our heroes in The Empire Strikes Back. Priced at $400 each, the Echo Base Collection will be available in limited quantities at 12:01am EST on December 8 via the website www.columbia.com/starwars. Columbia branded retail locations will also sell these intergalactic jackets when those stores open that day.
A collection of jackets celebrating the theatrical debut of director Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One was released by Columbia last year.
In addition to the three standard release Echo Base pieces, Columbia has partnered with Harrison Ford on a special limited-edition dark brown jacket:
After consulting the Star Wars archives, Columbia drew inspiration from the original on set Han Solo dark brown jacket worn on planet Hoth. In honor of this epic film, Columbia produced an extremely limited run of the dark brown Han Solo Archive Edition parkas (MSRP: $1980). Further, Columbia has collaborated with Harrison Ford in this endeavor to raise funds for Conservation International, a global organization dedicated to the protection of nature. Harrison hand-signed each of these brown Han Solo Archive Edition parkas, and Columbia will donate 100% of the proceeds from their sale to Conservation International.
