TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX & Sideshow ‘The Last Jedi’ Opening Night

This from our friends at Sideshow….

Star Wars fans gathered from all over the world to experience the latest installment in the intergalactic saga at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX®.
The TCL Chinese Theatre payed homage to the late Carrie Fisher by unveiling a new commemorative plaque in her honor. Sideshow LIVE host Susan presented a rare Princess Leia statue from the Sideshow archives to Carrie’s brother Todd Fisher, and talked about the company’s love of the franchise, the characters, and Carrie in particular.

Fans and press interacted with life-size figures of R2-D2 that flanked the iconic entrance way to the TCL Chinese Theatre before experiencing an exhibition of costumes, memorabilia, and Sideshow statues and figures inspired by the movies.
As well as enjoying fun photo opportunities with fan-favorite characters, fan also entered Sideshow’s sweepstakes for a chance to win a life-size R2-D2!

Celebrities such as Will Wheaton, Jennifer Muro, Greg Grunberg and of course, Carrie’s dog Gary Fisher, mingled with friends, fans, and cosplayers outside the TCL Chinese Theatre and it’s Forecourt of the Stars.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson spoke with the fans and gave Sideshow prizes to lucky members of the audience before introducing the movie.

Well done to the team up LiningUp.net for raising funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation — it’s also great to see our good friends Sarah and Richard Woloski from Skywalking through Neverland in the picture with Rian (among others).
