‘Solo’ To Premiere At Cannes Film Festival May 15

We have learned via The Hollywood Reporter that director Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story will be holding its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15, which is 10 days before the film lands in theaters (and only 9 days before for fans in the UK). The standalone film joins 2002’s Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Revenge of the Sith as Star Wars films that have premiered at this festival.

The GFFA has a history with the Cannes Film Festival, one that ace reporter Anthony Breznican at Entertainment Weekly examined further in this piece.
