Crocs are returning to a galaxy far, far away with two new character based shoes, available from October 29th, featuring either Darth Vader or R2-D2; which will you choose?
Let us first examine the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader. Crocs places Vader’s instantly recognisable, fearsome mask directly onto the front of the Classic Clogs. It duplicates the movie prop’s shape precisely, even including crimson eyes and what seem to be genuine ventilation ports to enhance airflow.
A striking red lightsaber graphic travels along the shoe’s side panels, and the footbed features joint red logos. This is a formidable piece of footwear; it demands attention and gives the wearer a menacing appearance from head to toe.
The next offering caters to the Rebel Alliance, drawing its inspiration from Luke Skywalker’s trusted astromech unit, R2-D2. The most significant physical alteration involves a pair of small ‘legs’ attached where the heel strap pivots. While the main body retains the familiar Croslite foam, the upper surface showcases complex painted graphics that mimic the droid’s array of buttons and indicator lamps.
Crocs has packaged the shoe with two matching R2-D2 attachments. This design is highly intricate, managing to translate a beloved cylindrical droid into the shape of an open backed shoe.
Both designs are available directly from Crocs and various selected retailers from tomorrow, October 29th.
