We continue our Holiday Gift Guide for 2020 with a look at The Child backpack from Loungefly and sold by shopDisney.co.uk.
The last handbag review I did for Jedi News was in October 2019 BC (before COVID). Frankly, handbags have been pretty much redundant in 2020, along with proper shoes and office-smart clothing. However, Loungefly has been working hard to bring a bit of joy back to this very odd year, and the here is a review for one of the two bags we have been sent to review, both featuring the cutest character in the galaxy, Grogu (aka “The Child”).
The classic mini-backpack is made of faux leather it is styled as The Child in his cradle. The base colour is mostly light beige with splotches of darker beige mustard yellow. The front features a smiling Grogu of appliqued faux leather, with details either embroidered, embossed, printed or layered to create a pleasing 3D effect. The ears, which stick out from the backpack, have a delicate pink hue inside, the hands use a clever combination of contrasting colours and embossing to pick out the fingernails and fingers, and the eyes are large, expressive and with a slight sheen.
The zipped front pocket has both a Loungefly zip tag and also a dangling enamelled metal frog, the Star Wars Loungefly badge on the front is also enamelled metal, and the bag features an adjustable brown strap and a hanging loop.
The backpack is lined with a soft nylon, fully printed with delightful images of Grogu, the cradle and the frog. There is a zipped inner pocket for extra security too.
This very gorgeous bag (sized approximately H9.5” x W9” x D4.5” or 24cm x 23cm x 11cm) is priced at £70.00 and can be purchased from shopDisney.co.uk, although it is currently out-of-stock.
Thanks to shopDisney.co.uk for sending us this item. The opinions expressed in this review are our own.
