LEGO CITY and Friends Advent Calendars 2023 – Day 1

We open the first doors of the LEGO CITY (#60381) and LEGO Friends (#41758) Advent Calendars. This year marks the nineteenth LEGO CITY and twelfth LEGO Friends calendar, so let’s see what’s behind today’s door.

The CITY Advent Calendar box depicts a festive scene with Mr and Mrs Claus front and centre. Opening the box up, the display mat features some kind of outside market plus a couple of indoor scenes. Behind the first door we get a snowman!

The snowman is built from 12 pieces (with three spares of the smallest elements). The snowman is skiing and wears a helmet and goggles for safety, with a red-scarf for warmth.

The Friends Advent Calendar box shows an outdoor scene, depicting lots of animals. Opening it up, the display mat features some kind of animal playground. Let’s open the first door and see what we get — a minidoll!

The first build is a minidoll of the character Autumn, first introduced earlier this year. Autumn is disabled and it’s great to see the LEGO Group depict their characters like this, appealing to all. She is wearing a holiday themed jumper with a snowflake pattern. That’s not all though, we also get a snowball, snowboard and helmet; here’s hoping this bodes well for the rest of the calendar.

Let us know what you think of today’s build/item.
