Yesterday we learned that Del Rey would be bringing an exclusive edition of Thrawn: Alliances to San Diego Comic-Con featuring cover artwork of Anakin Skywalker and Thrawn himself. What we didn’t know at that time was that there would be not one, but two exclusive versions of the novel for fans to pick up. The exclusive $45.00 hardcover edition (which will be signed by author Timothy Zahn) will also come with a cool pin of the Grand Admiral insignia and a Star Wars tote bag.
There will also be an exclusive audiobook version (also priced at $45.00) that includes a conversation between author Timothy Zahn & narrator Marc Thompson on the USB flash drive, a collector’s tin featuring the same artwork seen on the novel’s SDCC cover, a numbered card signed by author Timothy Zahn & narrator Marc Thompson, and the Grand Admiral insignia pin mentioned earlier.
Del Rey will be implementing the wristband system again for each individual edition of their exclusive. Check out the details below as well as high resolution photos (click each image for a larger view) of the novel’s cover, the collector’s tin, and the insignia pin.
How Can I Buy These Exclusive Editions?
You can get a copy of either the printed book or the audiobook by picking up a free wristband from the Del Rey Star Wars Booth – Booth 2913-J. There will be separate wristbands for each edition.
Wristbands are available as follows:
Wednesday – Sunday, starting when the doors of the main convention show floor open to the general public, we will be giving out wristbands. Wristbands have been set aside for each day, so don’t worry if you can only make it later in the week!
