The special 10th anniversary panel for The Clone Wars just concluded a short time ago at San Diego Comic-Con. Headlined by supervising director Dave Filoni, the panel also featured series producer Athena Portillo, composer Kevin Kiner, Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka Tano), and Matt Lanter (voice of Anakin Skywalker) on stage and brought back a wave of memories for those in attendance.
During the panel, Filoni showcased a wide collection of sketches (including those from unproduced episodes) he created for various characters/scenes from the series. He spoke about collaborating with George Lucas on developing the look and feel of TCW in addition to the musical scores that helped define the series from Kevin Kiner. The work of the late Ian Abercrombie as the original Emperor was acknowledged as well as details on how certain scenes were written between characters to generate the desired impact. Of course, the love and support the series has earned from the Star Wars fan community over the years was referenced by the panelists and greatly appreciated.
And the granddaddy of ’em all? It was announced that MORE CLONE WARS (12 brand new episodes in total) will be coming via the new Disney streaming service!!! The dedicated #CloneWarsSaved Twitter hashtag was revealed and the crowd went absolutely nuts when it was announced.
