Breaking: Disneyland Resort in California Presses Pause on July 17th Reopening

Disneyland in California was scheduled to re-open 65 years to the day on July 17th, 2020, but those plans have been nixed by the State of California who have indicated that they will not issue theme park reopening guidelines until after July 4th. This comes off the back of a rising number of COVID-19 cases the state, topping over 7,000 on June 23rd. This marks the first time ever that the theme park will be closed on it’s anniversary, although Downtown Disney is still expected to reopen on July 9th.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Florida has also increased dramatically, with the largest number of cases reported in a day on June 24th with over 5,500, and we await news on whether this will affect the reopening of Walt Disney World (due to start reopening from July 11th).

Meanwhile, Disneyland Paris is still scheduled to open on July 15th, and Tokyo Disneyland Resort on July 1st. We will be watching all these developments with interest.
