A beautiful bank holiday Monday with sun, blue skies and no work, what more could you want? Star Wars of course! Petersfield down in Hampshire got a taste of the Force this bank holiday Monday as the Rebel Legion and UK Garrison appeared at Force Fest, the yearly town festival that brings fun, food and family together. Speculation was to be had at first as neither I nor Mark had attended the event before but alas as Jedi-Newsers it was our sworn duty to boldly go where no other has been before.

And the trip was very much worth it as the streets were packed, the drinks were flowing and the live music was great. The Rebel Legion had brought down the scaled X-Wing fighter that kids could sit in and take their picture with while the UK Garrison had the scaled Landspeeder and stormed the premises with Stormtroopers. Although it held a light Star Wars presence the spirit was high as the troops of both parties were inundated with photo requests from the public, a constant reminder again how popular Star Wars still stands in the everyday public. We also grabbed Rebel Legion member Mark Mulcaster where we talked trooping, Celebration and more which can be heard on the next episode of RADIO 1138.

Set aside from Star Wars the event hosted some unique other attractions such as some beautiful American vintage cars, live bands, local farmers delicatessens, world food & drink and a mix of high-street cafes and shops. Also noted was the sheer amount of visitors wearing their Star Wars merchandise with pride from the new generation to the old, a great site to be seen.
