Granite City Comic Con Brings Star Wars To North East Of Scotland

Granite City Comic Con held its second annual show today in the UK’s oil capital of Aberdeen.

With Star Wars guests Paul Blake (Greedo), Garrick Hagon (Biggs) and Shane Rimmer (Rebel Technician) from A New Hope on hand to give the show a Star Wars feel.  Artists Gary Erskine (X-Wing Rogue Squadron), John Wagner (Boba Fett), and Tanya Roberts (Clone Wars) added to a Star Wars vibe by showcasing and retailing their art.

A Star Wars specific panel was held with Rimmer, Blake, and Hagon recalling fun tales from the Star Wars set as well as fielding questions from the passionate floor.  Hagon brought a great reaction from the crowd by fanning the flames of an on-line rumour that Diego Luna in Rogue One could be playing Biggs.  Hagon admired Luna’s moustache and sang the prasies of the new actor to the Star Wars universe, an actor he worked with a few years back.

A large number of Star Wars cosplayers filled the floors, with Stormtroopers, Kylo Ren’s, Vader’s and Rey’s throughout the crowd.

Our good friend Darth Elvis and the Imperials brought the curtain down on an incredible day with a double set of the Kings’ greatest Star Wars hits at the events after party.  The King can next be seen at the o2 the night before Celebration, at the special fan gig #Cantina – tickets remain on sale.

An incredible show, brilliantly organised and with a wonderful vibe continues tomorrow Sunday 1st May.  A limited number of tickets remain available.  I for one can’t wait for next years show.
