As regular readers of the site and listeners to Jedi News Network and specifically RADIO 1138 will know, #teamjedinews are great fans of Star Wars Fan Fun Day. Attending in 2014, we promised ourselves that we would make a return visit, and this year is that year.
Unfortunately there have been some enforced changes, meaning the planned dates of Sunday 1st May for Dinner With The Stars and Monday 2nd May for Star Wars Fan Fun Day itself have changed, combining both events into one single day on Sunday 1st May. Here’s the official statement from Neil Livesey at SWFFD.
THIS YEAR’S SWFFD WILL GO AHEAD ON SUNDAY 1ST MAY
DINNER WITH THE STARS WILL REMAIN ON SUNDAY 1ST MAYDear SWFFD fans, firstly, thank you very much for your patience.
We were put in this unusual situation by Sky TV moving the game to bank holiday Monday.
The SWFFD have worked tirelessly to find a solution. We have spoken to representatives of the football club, actors, agents, vendors, and as many fans as we could. We read all of your comments, messages and emails.
We have decided that the event will go ahead at burnley football club on Sunday 1st May. All tickets dated 2nd of May will be valid for this new date.
To those who can no longer attend because of other commitments, we are truly sorry. Please remember that we are Star Wars fans too but there was no way, given the circumstances, we could please everyone.
If you wish to return your tickets / photoshoots, for a full refund, please email starwarsfanfunday@aol.com To those who are able to support our event, we thank you and we will make sure you have a great day.
Please bear with us as we have a lot of re-organising to do over the next couple of weeks. We will get around to answering all of messages and emails as soon as we can.May The Force Be With You
The SWFFD team
Myself and James are planning a special episode of RADIO 1138 to help spread the news far and wide to all who need to know. Stay tuned for that episode during the coming week, but be in no doubt – Jedi News WILL be there covering all of the activities on the day.
