Here’s a challenge. Not only do you wear Star Wars clothing on world Star Wars Day, or May the 4th or even Force Friday but every day throughout 2016. That’s the challenge that Jawa James Floyd has set himself this year, and he needs your help.
So I think I’ve gone nuts. I’ve started a charity fundraising project to wear a different item of Star Wars clothing every day starting January 1st and seeing how long I can keep this going, and I would like your help to kick this off!
I’ve started a fundraising site:
https://www.gofundme.com/WearStarWars2016and a Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/WearStarWarsEveryDay/And I’d really like it if you checked it out and helped spread the word!
My goals are to try to wear a different Star Wars apparel item for every day in 2016, and also to raise $10,000 for Collateral Repair Project, a non-profit that provides assistance to urban refugees. I hope to have my project be like a walkathon, where people pledge a small amount to donate for each day I successfully wear a Star Wars clothing item in a row.
People can help by:
- Liking the Facebook page, and sharing the links
- Donating a flat amount or pledging a per-day amount
- Hooking me up with cool Star Wars apparel – I’m really hoping to showcase great designs or promote Star Wars fan groups, sites, podcasts, clubs, etc. Clothing items can be lent or donated (with all donations eventually also going to Collateral Repair Project).
- Wearing Star Wars yourself and posting it with the #WearStarWarsEveryDay tag.
Click on the Facebook link or visit https://www.gofundme.com/WearStarWars2016 and be a part of this awesome fundraiser and be sure to take those pics wearing your own gear and sent them in.
