Congratulations to all those behind the documentary Music by John Williams which won the Grammy for Best Music Film at last night’s ceremony, with Ludwig Göransson, composer of The Mandalorian theme, winning Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media for Sinners.
This award, given to Steven Spielberg and his fellow producers Sara Bernstein, Laurent Bouzereau, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Meredith Kaulfers, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Justin Wilkes, means that Spielberg becomes the 28th person to achieve an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony). He has previously won three Oscars, thirteen Emmys and a Tony Award for Best Musical for A Strange Loop, which he produced.
Other Lucasfilm nominees were in the Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media category; Gordy Haab for Indiana Jones And The Great Circle and Cody Matthew Johnson & Wilbert Roget, II, for Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card & A Pirate’s Fortune who lost out to composer Austin Wintory for Sword of the Sea.
