
New York Comic Con Metaverse 2020 kicked off earlier today and one of the main programming highlights from Day 1 of the virtual event was a panel dedicated to Lucasfilm’s new publishing program Star Wars: The High Republic. Contributing authors Claudia Gray, Charles Soule, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, and Cavan Scott were joined by Lucasfilm publishing creative director Michael Siglain during the video presentation. They revealed details on some of their respective characters that have been created and how they tie into the events of “The Great Disaster” which drives the story narrative behind The High Republic. Siglain also revealed the following exciting news towards the end of the presentation:

Star Wars: The High Republic, which takes place in the official Star Wars timeline approximately 200 years before the events played out during The Phantom Menace, is scheduled to kick off in January of next year with Charles Soule’s adult novel Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi and Justina Ireland’s middle grade novel Star Wars: The High Republic: A Test of Courage. Both titles will be released on January 5.
