ReedPop to Add Virtual Component to Future Live Events

With the COVID-19 pandemic showing no signs of slowing down across portions of the world, the feasibility of convention organizers being able to host in-person events under the safety parameters required to hold such events continues to be in question. ReedPop recently sent out an email providing some insight into how they are looking to conduct business in 2021 with regards to hosting their stable of popular convention experiences. In the email, ReedPop president Lance Fensterman highlights a new online component that the company will be looking to apply to future conventions for those fans who are unable to attend the event in person:

No more event sellouts! Once we do get back to live events, we’ll have an awesome virtual component that will bring you access to great content, exclusives and the Con community both on and offline. That means if you can’t get a ticket to an event, you can still be there in a real and meaningful way.

ReedPop conducted New York Comic Con 2020 strictly as an online event and it appears the success of that convention is helping to drive their decision to continue providing additional online coverage to their live events in this manner. This is extremely good news not only as a response to the uncertainty of the pandemic, but from a monetary/budget/time perspective as well. The in-person experience of a convention will never be fully replicated via a virtual presence, but giving fans the ability to partake in the convention action in this secondary manner opens up the door to as many fans as possible.

Well done, ReedPop. Well done indeed.
