Hand props and weapons painter Rut Villamagna is the second guest confirmed as attending Thank the Maker, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, at St Swithun’s School in Winchester, Hampshire on October 17th, 2026.
Rut joins previously announced prop master Jamie Wilkinson.

Rut Villamagna is a highly acclaimed prop artist and scenic painter with more than two decades of experience creating and finishing props for some of the film industry’s most iconic productions. Based in London, she is renowned for her exceptional craftsmanship, specialising in prop painting, ageing, weathering, faux finishes, and scenic effects that bring cinematic worlds to life.
Throughout her career, Rut has contributed to an impressive range of blockbuster films and television productions, including Project Hail Mary, The Batman, Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Lead Prop Painter), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Rise of Skywalker, Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent, Cinderella, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Dracula Untold, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Frankenweenie, Pan’s Labyrinth, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Mickey 17, among many others.
Alongside her work in film, Rut is passionate about sharing her expertise through workshops, tutorials, and online courses, inspiring artists around the world to master the craft of prop painting and scenic finishing. Her dedication to detail and storytelling through surface finishes has established her as one of the industry’s leading prop painters, with credits spanning fantasy, science fiction, animation, and historical epics.
