Earlier today, Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams hosted the 95th Academy Awards/Oscar nominations announcement with a bevy of Lucasfilm alumni being nominated in several categories, including a 53rd nomination for composer John Williams.
Here are all the Lucasfilm related nominations: –
- Ludwig Göransson (with Tems, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler) for Best Original Song for Lift Me Up – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
- Rian Johnson – Best Adapted Screenplay for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
- Ke Huy Quan – Best Supporting Actor for Everything Everywhere All at Once
- Steven Spielberg – Best Director, Best Original Screenplay (with Tony Kushner) and Best Film for The Fabelmans
- John Williams – Best Original Score for The Fabelmans – his 53rd Oscar nomination!
ILM were nominated for Best Visual Effects for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Geoffrey Baumann, Craig Hammack, R. Christopher White, Dan Sudick) and The Batman (Dan Lemmon, Russell Earl, Anders Langlands, Dominic Tuohy).
Skywalker Sound were nominated for Best Sound for Avatar: The Way of Water (Julian Howarth, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, Dick Bernstein, Christopher Boyes, Gary Summers, Michael Hedges) and Top Gun: Maverick (Mark Weingarten, James H Mather, Al Nelson, Chris Burdon, Mark Taylor).
