Three Annual Festivals Might Be Celebrated at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars: GalaxyÕs Edge at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, is Disney's largest single-themed land expansion ever at 14-acres each, transporting guests to Black Spire Outpost, a village on the planet of Batuu. Guests will discover two signature attractions. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (pictured), available opening day, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening later this year. The folks over at WDWNT.com are speculating that the three local holidays listed in the new book Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Traveler’s Guide to Batuu, might become annual holiday celebrations at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The local holidays listed are Black Spire Day, Batuuan Harvest Festival and Life Day.

Black Spire Day

Black Spire Day would celebrate the founding of Black Spire Outpost and take place on May 4th.

Batuuan Harvest Festival

Celebrating the natural resource that grows on Batuu, golden lichen, Black Spire Outpost would become adorned in golden decorations. It’s also known in the Star Wars lore that Oga Garra tends to hoard this resource and use it in her dishes and drinks served at her cantina.

This event would coincide with the Halloween festivities that Disney Parks are known for and provide seasonal decorations and unique food and beverage offerings.

Life Day

In the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, we learned how those in the Star Wars universe celebrated the season with “Life Day,” which is a traditional Wookie holiday. This occasion would now be celebrated at the parks during our regular holiday season.

WDWNT.com points out that whilst these events remained unconfirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm, it doubts that they would have just been randomly added to the book. What do you think, and would you like to attend these events at Galaxy’s Edge?
