Today saw the final flight of the Virgin Atlantic 747 plane which carries the famous Star Wars Millennium Falcon design.
Virgin’s #StarWars #millenniumfalcon 747 flew from @manairport for the final time today.
An icon of the skies of steadily being retired.
(NB: We weren’t there but have permission to share photo. Not too sure of social distancing but let’s keep comments to the plane or SW!) pic.twitter.com/x7XnsB4AIS

COVID-19 has taken its toll on the aviation industry, with Virgin Atlantic reducing its fleet from 45 to 36 planes. That includes retiring all 747’s including The Falcon that was inspired by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. A third of the workforce is being laid off and operations from Gatwick airport have ended.
We hope that all staff being laid off are able to find new employment soon, stay safe and MTFBWY!
