The Canary Isles To Be A Location For Han Solo Movie Shoot ?

The team over at Star Wars News Net have discovered a posting on a Spanish movie blog that gives some information on a potential filming location for the upcoming Han Solo movie.

The Spanish site ElBlogDeCineEspanol claims that the Han Solo spin-off movie, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller has already set its filming locations and Spain will be one of them. According to them the filming will take place on the island of Fuerteventerua. It is said that the island will be one of the essential locations for the movie.

Fuerteventerua is one of the Canary Isles, and is a Unesco biosphere reserve, described by Unesco as:

The topography of Fuerteventura is characterized by U-shaped valleys and low mountains. The highest peak is Pico de la Zarza (807 metres) located in the south of the reserve. The island also contains a rich fossil record, distributed among 50 paleontological sites of global importance.

Lucasfilm recently filmed on another Unesco site, Skellig Michael, for Episodes VII and VIII. That island was protected under World Heritage status.

Currently confirmed to be in the Han Solo film are David Glover, Emilia Clarke, with Alden Ehrenreich in the lead role of Han Solo.  Woody Harrelson is the latest name to be rumoured a part of the project.
