Earlier this week, Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy met with Shuzo John Shiota, one of the Executive Producers on Star Wars Resistance, and President and CEO of Polygon Pictures, in Tokyo.
Here is a translation of the Tweet below…
Today, I spent half a day with Dave walking around the geek side of Tokyo. From Nakano Broadway to Godzilla store in Shinjuku, then visit Polygon. All routes by train or bus. Then, in the evening, I was invited to dinner by Kathy Kennedy, who came to Japan today, at a 5-star hotel in Roppongi. It was a gap-heavy day.
Shuzo John Shiota original Tweet…
pic.twitter.com/lMl2AzMrH5

Filoni is responsible for Lucasfilm’s Star Wars animation output, so it would be safe to assume the duo met with Shiota to discuss his and/or Polygon Pictures ability to work with Lucasfilm on future productions. Polygon Pictures previous projects include TRON: Uprising, which used traditional animation techniques, as well as anime-styled CGI projects including Netflix’s Godzilla anime trilogy. Shiota’s other advantage is that he has worked with Lucasfilm previously as one of the Executive Producers on Star Wars Resistance.
We will be watching closely as this story develops.
