Disneyland Resort in California Ready to Open When State Allows

Disneyland was scheduled to re-open on its 65th anniversary on July 17th but those plans were shelved, and now Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro says ‘we’re ready’ whilst California Governor Newsom says ‘we’re making a lot of progress’.

California Governor Gavin Newsom responded to a question regarding progress on theme park reopenings [yesterday]. To this, he replied:

“We’re making a lot of progress in that space. The reason we set it aside… is we still have work to do. Progress is still being made. We’re still working on some details. As soon as we’re at a point where we can make [that] public, we will.”

D’Amaro recently made the statement on The Dow Report, a show hosted by U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow, on August 25th.

He stated, “…we don’t have any California guidelines for opening. And as soon as a date and those guidelines are set, I can tell you we’re ready.”

We hope that an announcement with a date for reopening will be made soon.
