Egbert Sen Played Willrow Hood in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

For over forty years it has been a mystery as to who played Willrow Hood in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and now Wookieepedia user Keelman2001 has uncovered the man behind the camtono as Egbert Sen.

Egbert Sen was born in 1930s Pakistan, and travelled to the UK in 1957, where he became an actor and extra appearing in, among others, Octopussy, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and undisputedly most famously Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, as a Bespinite engineer seen very briefly running through a corridor. This engineer’s significance? His brief appearance was not brief enough to stop eagle-eyed Star Wars fans noticing that he appeared to be holding an Ice Cream Maker. This character was soon elevated among the ranks of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise, and is widely regarded as the very first Glup Shitto. He was identified in the Star Wars Customisable Card Game: Cloud City Limited, released in 1997, as Willrow Hood. Recently, I had the honour of creating his Wookieepedia page.

Unfortunately, he passed away in circa 2019, aged roughly 87, never realising how beloved among fans his character was. Rest in Peace Egbert Sen.
