Episode VII – Will this Comical Pairing Make a Return Together?

Since Disney resurrected what seemed to be a complete and concluded six-episode story arc back in October of 2012, fans’ appetites have been well and truly wet as they eagerly anticipate what might come to the big screens when Star Wars Episode VII finally arrives. Well, here’s some of what we know so far about the spectacle, even if the release date isn’t until 18th December 2015.

    They are Heading Somewhere Sandy

As per this news and image, it seems the cast have been filming in a sandy location, which immediately suggests that the crew could be looking to develop another Tatooine-like area, or simply give it a renovation for the new movie. Abu Dhabi has been used as a location… so time will tell!

Steven Spielberg is set to make a lot of Money

In case you didn’t know, Spielberg made a bet with George Lucas about the success of both Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which saw them swapping a percentage of each films earnings. Well, Spielberg won that bet and is now set to tidy a handy sum, simply for foreseeing Star Wars’ greatness. Speaking of betting, in the run-up to the film there are likely to be several novelty bets on offer at leading bookmakers such as Bet365, as there are with other blockbuster such as James Bond and TV series’ such as Big Brother, so make sure to keep in the loop on the news surrounding episode seven, as it may help you land some money like Spielberg!

Game of Thrones will Play a Part

No, this isn’t some sort of weird galaxy cross-over. Actor Miltos Yerolemou – who stars as Syrio Forel in Game of Thrones – has been cast in the film, although it is much speculated that his character won’t be one of the leading roles in the film.

    Use the force, Luke!

Yes, not only will Luke Skywalker be making a return but it seems that he will in fact be played by none other than Mark Hamill! The move is sure to please die-hard fans of the film, whilst also allowing for some promising story continuation, with Harrison Ford also making his return as Luke’s pal Han Solo. These aren’t the only returns though, as Leia (Carrie Fisher), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), C3PO (Anthony Daniels) and even R2D2 (Kenny Baker) will also be back!

    New Faces A-plenty

With the film set to be staged 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, which means there will be plenty of new faces as the characters of old begin to wind down their lightsaber-wielding careers. Adam Driver has been touted to play the villain in Episode VII, although it remains to be seen what role he will actually play – as mere names and not casting roles were announced!

There’s so much more and its release seems so long away, but it’s sure to come around very quickly!
