Our new pal Marc Zachacki drops us a line with an interesting looks at a recent poll, listing people’s favourite Star Wars quotes. Over to Marc.
Omaze a company that helps give out once in a lifetime opportunity took to twitter, to help Make-A-Wish Foundation and it’s upcoming giveaway tour of Skywalker Ranch. After promoting the amazing trip they asked “What’s your favorite @starwars quote”. With a retweet by the official Star Wars Twitter, responses started flying in from all over the galaxy. Quotes ranged from main characters that you would expect to more unknowns like Cornelius Evazan and Zev Senesca.
The top 3 characters to be quoted were Han Solo, Yoda then Darth Vader – no real surprise. While Obi-Wan Kenobi, Leia and Luke were all in the middle of the pack. Shocking to me is 6 people quoted different roars from Chewie, but no one picked any quotes from our favorite astromech droid.
The number one quote (25 times) was by Yoda, “Do or do not, there is no try”. Coming in a very close second (22 times) is the Han/Leia quote of “I love you” “I know”. Even without using this quote towards Han’s total quotes, he just beats out Yoda 41 to 39. “It’s a trap”, “May the Force be with you”, “I am your father” and “I find your lake of faith disturbing” were the runners up.
The quote of “I have a bad feeling about this” I did not count towards any individual character because this (or variations) was said 9 different times by 8 different characters within the movies, but was quoted by fans 11 times.
Something that took me by surprise is how many people misquoted there favorite quotes. The one I hear all the time is, “Luke, I am your father”. With roughly 250 quotes in 24 hours it was fun sort out all the different quotes people love from Star Wars. Head over to @Omaze to cast your vote now.
