Freddie Prinze Jr. Says He’s Done Playing Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars

In a new interview on Kristian Harloff’s YouTube channel, Freddie Prinze Jr. has said he’s done with voicing the character of Kanan Jarrus, first introduced to us in Star Wars: Rebels.

He stated he was happy with how his characters journey came to an end in the animated series, and feels like any further appearances would dilute that.

When asked about his cameo at the start of the first season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch he said, “I was asked to, yeah. I didn’t necessarily want to. I feel like every time you hear Kanan’s voice since Rebels ended, it really kind of dilutes his impact.”

On his line in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, speaking to Rey through the Force, he reiterated, “Yeah, I didn’t want to do that either. I was asked as a favor and I feel like all my — all their favors are used up now.”

Finally, he was asked about any involvement in the upcoming Disney+ Ahsoka series and he said, “No Ahsoka, I’m done with Kanan. I’m too old for that stuff.”
