Ian Failes from befores & afters sat down with Gareth Edwards and ILM’s Jay Cooper in a new video interview to discuss the film’s VFX tests (including which ones made it into the final film), deciding which actors would become robots after shooting, crafting simulants, shooting with the virtual camera, and filming on ILM’s StageCraft LED stage.
The Creator has been nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Academy Awards (the nominees are Jay Cooper, Ian Comley, Andrew Roberts and Neil Corbould), which take place on March 10th, 2024.
