Harrison Ford Drops Out As 2025 Oscars Presenter After Shingles Diagnosis

Harrison Ford will no longer take the stage at tonight’s Academy Awards ceremony, where he was due to present an award, after being diagnosed with shingles. We wish him a quick recovery.

Ford, 82, is doing okay and is resting after the diagnosis, which he received yesterday. EW has learned that the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchise actor dropped out of the Oscars ceremony this morning.

Per the Mayo Clinic, shingles “is a viral infection that causes a painful rash” that often appears as a single stripe of blisters caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox.

The 2025 Oscars, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will air tonight.
